Thirteen talented junior and senior Huntington High School musicians have been recognized as All-County by the New York State Council of Administrators of Music Education.

“These talented students were chosen based on prior New York State School Music Association solo evaluation scores, teacher recommendations, membership in previous All-County festivals and participation in music ensembles,” said Eric Reynolds, Huntington’s district director of fine and performing arts.

The honorees from Huntington include:

Allison Quinn (violin) and Mary Grace Rorke (harp) were also chosen as NYSSMA All-State alternates. Those chosen as an All-State performer or alternate “are at the pinnacle of their musical skills,” Mr. Reynolds said.

The Huntington music program is in the midst of another spectacular year. “The achievement of our students represents mastery in their musical studies and a true pursuit of excellence,” Mr. Reynolds said. “The fine and performing arts department is proud to have these students represent our school and community.”
