Fresh off its winningest season ever, the Huntington High School varsity field hockey team will host a free clinic for Huntington UFSD students currently enrolled in grades 6-8 on Wednesday afternoon from 4-5 p.m. on the grass athletic field. No registration is necessary.
Sixth graders attending Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School and Woodhull Intermediate School along with J. Taylor Finley Middle School seventh and eighth graders are all invited to attend what promises to be a fun afternoon for everyone.
Huntington’s varsity players and coaches will lead the clinic. This school sponsored session will include an opportunity to learn more about the sport of field hockey while having fun with the players and coaches who won 12 varsity games this year.
The clinic is an effort by the Blue Devil coaches and players to give back to the community for the encouragement and support it gave to the program throughout the fall season.
Participants in the clinic should try and bring the following items if possible:
1. Mouthpiece
2. Field hockey stick
3. Goggles
4. Shin guards and cleats (if you have them)
5. Dress warm in sweatpants and a sweatshirt
If you don’t have one of the items listed above, still come to the clinic and participate in whatever activities you can.
Improve your field hockey stick and game skills and have fun participating in interactive drills.
