The Huntington High School varsity football team will enter the 2021 season seeded No. 8 among 14 teams in Suffolk Division II. An eight game tentative schedule has been released by Section XI.
Practice will begin on Monday, August 23. The first scrimmage can be held on Friday, September 3. Games will commence the following weekend.
Here are the seeds for the coming season: 1. Lindenhurst; 2. West Islip; 3. Half Hollow Hills East; 4. Northport; 5. Bellport; 6. Centereach; 7. North Babylon; 8. Huntington; 9. Newfield; 10. Smithtown West; 11. Connetquot; 12. West Babylon; 13. Smithtown East; 14. Copiague.

Huntington will open the season with a home game on Saturday, September 11 and the Blue Devils will close out the regular season schedule with a home game on October 30.

Huntington is set to return sophomores Ahmari Gordon, Bryan Maldonado-Acosta, Isaiah Thomas and Sergio Velasquez and juniors Lorenzo Aloe, Manuel Aviles, Jr., Raseac Caleb, John Chirico, Tylill Evans, Elias Frazier, Jahiem Hawkins, John Marziliano, Tyriek Mays-McKoy, Liam McDonald, Josiah Melendez, Jack O’Brien, Lucas Petrizzi, Ryan Porzio, Kaleef Riley, Nicholas Smalling and Robbie Smith.
Smith was named to the All-Division and All-County teams this past spring. Mays-McKoy and Melendez were both tapped as All-Division.
Numerous JV players are expected to get promoted to the varsity roster for the fall 2021 season.
