With the 2020/21 school year in the home stretch, students at Flower Hill Primary School are showing no signs of slowing down or letting up as they go about their business around the building
The boys and girls spread across kindergarten, first, second and third grades are enthusiastic and ready to learn on any given day. They have navigated through the COVID-19 pandemic and all of the changes and modifications the public health crisis has required as well as anyone can possibly expect.
The youngsters at Flower Hill have unmatched energy. They find a reason to get excited about anything. They are inquisitive, well-spoken and hardworking and they are very proud of their work.
Flower Hill Principal Lucia Laguarda recently announced Stars of the Month Award recipients for April. It’s a spectacular group of youngsters who taken individually or collectively are shining stars in Huntington UFSD.
The honorees include: Kindergarten: Keira Mackey, Yonibel Gudiel Gregorio, Julio C Ulloa Gonzalez, Colin Golding-McKenna, Cassandra David; First grade: Colin Kiernan, Erin Reed, Madeline Leiter, Nicholas Mills, Darlyn Lara Mojica, Mary Sanchez Yanes; Second grade: Kenneth Guardado, Aneka Goutevenier, Autumn Moskowitz; Third grade: Miguel Alfaro Velasquez, Jayleen Benitez, Johanson Guevara Guerrero, Genesis Banegas Mejia, Anyi Martinez Licona, Scarlett Phillips, Leo McTaggart-Levonte, Jr.
With less than two months remaining in the school year, Flower Hill students, teachers and support staff members are all making every day count. “We are looking to wrap up the year on a high note,” Ms. Laguarda said.
