The Huntington High School senior prom is on. The special gathering for the Class of 2021 is set for Thursday, June 17 from 7-10 p.m. rain or shine under several “beautifully decorated” tents.
The prom is a seniors only event. Students enrolled in other grades and guests are not permitted to attend the affair. Prom-goers are invited to wear business suits, long or short dresses. This year’s gathering will feature an “enchanted forest” theme.
Tickets priced at $65 per person will be on sale on the following dates: Monday May 10, Wednesday May 12 and Friday, May 14 from 1:45 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. outside the front entrance of the high school.
The prom will feature a DJ/master of ceremonies, hardwood dance floors, tasty food, fun giveaways and some special surprises.
Food will be served buffet style by staff members who will be following established COVID-19 protocols.
The menu will include:
Appetizers: Crudite platter, chicken nuggets, pigs in a blanket, sweet and sour meatballs, mac and cheese wedges, Caesar salad and dinner rolls.
Main courses: Penne ala vodka, eggplant parmesan, chicken Francaise, sliced London broil teriyaki.
Desserts: Sheet cake, assorted cookies
Drinks: Lemonade, iced tea, soda, water
There will be a maximum of 10 students at each table. Students are asked to make their out table arrangements and reserve their plan when purchasing tickets. One person from each table group should sign up their respective party at the time of ticket purchase.
A limited number of tickets will be sold. The final deadline to ticket sales is Friday, May 14.
Proof of COVID-19 testing will be required for entry. Onsite PCR testing a couple of days before the event and on-site rapid testing for the six hours leading up to the event will be provided if needed. A valid vaccination card completed at least two weeks prior to June 17 will also be honored.
Students will be permitted to dance with their table group. Masks must be worn by students at all times except while seated and eating at a table.
At the time of ticket purchase, students will be asked to join a Prom Remind so they can stay updated on event details.
