J. Taylor Finley Middle School student-athletes will take the field later this month for the first time since last March when the program was put on hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first day of tryouts for five different sports teams is set for Monday, March 22. Interested students should be signing up with the school nurse now. There will be football, boys soccer, girls soccer, field hockey and co-ed cross country teams.
Tryouts will be held the first two or three days of practice from 3-5 p.m. Practices are normally held Monday through Friday from 3-5 p.m. Home and away games are scheduled throughout each week. The season will conclude on or about May 8.
Students should either visit or send a message to school nurse Katherine Khokhar (kkhokhar@hufsd.edu or 631-673-2026) to get re-qualified for participation. To be eligible, the following forms must be on file. Forms can be found at the link pasted below:

On the first day of tryoutspractice, students should:
1. Be dressed appropriately and ready to participate in their respective sport.
2. Submit to their coach a blue parent permission form signed by both parentguardian and student.
3. Have transportation home by 5 p.m.
