The school year is ending on a high note for Huntington High School’s PanTree Virtual Enterprise company, which has been named as one of the top 50 firms in a network of over 500 organizations.

Virtual Enterprises International sent a message to Huntington Principal Brenden Cusack informing him of the impressive designation and he responded with one word: “wow.”

“The VE Top 50 is a composite method to identify the top companies in the VE program by measuring engagement and achievement of targeted initiatives during multiple periods throughout the year,” said Virtual Enterprises International in a message to Mr. Cusack. “Companies were highlighted each period as Top 200, Top 150, Top 100 and lastly as the Top 50.”

Business teacher Suzi Biagi has been advising the PanTree company team. Executives include Sophie Laserson (chief executive officer), Morgan Colleluori (chief operating officer), Mary Grace Rorke (administrative vice president), Aidan Bonn (vice president of marketing), Dylan Coleman (chief technical officer), Matthew Lange (vice president of sales), Liam McDonald (vice president of human resources) and Kathryn Sanseviro (chief financial officer).

The PanTree company team also includes staff members Finn Cocoman, Harris Levinson, Jake Marques, George Morris, Palmer O’Beirne, Lucas Petrizzi, Scarlet Potts, Max Rentsch, Giselle Reyes-Canales, Dylan Schnitzer, Francesca Stamatatos and William Weber.

“Our firm has developed an intriguing new food app that offers an abundance of features to help make your life easier regarding all aspects of food,” Ms. Rorke said. “At PanTree, we are dedicated to creating a simpler and easier way to get groceries, plan out specific diets, find meal ingredients, address food insecurity in our community and much more.

The Virtual Enterprise class has proven to be popular at Huntington High School. The full-year, one credit business course is available to juniors and seniors. “Virtual Enterprise is a simulated business that is set-up and run by students to prepare them for working in a real business environment,” according to the high school’s course bulletin.

Naturally, the PanTree company team is thrilled it has garnered Top 50 honors. “This achievement is a testament to the quality of the program implemented at your school, the hard work and talents of your staff and students and the critical support you and others provide to make this the best experience possible,” VE International wrote in a message to Mr. Cusack. “VE’s mission is to prepare all students for fulfilling, financially secure features and you can rest assured knowing your students are on the right path toward successful futures because of this achievement.”
