The Huntington High School golf team continues to prepare for the upcoming rescheduled season, now set to run from March 15 through April 26. The Blue Devils usually hit the links in the fall, but the COVID-19 pandemic pushed interscholastic sports back by several months.
Huntington head coach Michael Marinello has issued an invitation to students interested in the sport to join in on the fun. While seven golfers are eligible to return, there is a desire to get more athletes involved. Those interested can send an e-mail message to the coach at mmarinello@hufsd.edu.

The Blue Devils return to the course eighth grader Jack Severine; freshman Nicholas Sclafani; juniors Robert Eriksen, Carl Pulizzotto and Joseph Sclafani and seniors Kyle Colleluori and Jack Giamo.
While Huntington won the league championship in 2019, the loss of several of that team’s leading players who were seniors, created holes in the Blue Devil lineup.
The Huntington Crescent Club serves as Huntington’s home course. Club officials have worked closely with Marinello and welcomed the Blue Devil players with open arms.
“The Crescent Club has been an incredible host to us,” Marinello said. “We cannot thank them enough. It’s a great course and our players have enjoyed a really wonderful experience there over the years.”
The Huntington golf team has always been a tightknit group. Anyone who decides to give the Blue Devil program a try is almost guaranteed to have fun. “What’s better than an afternoon on the course?” Marinello asked with a smile.
