Blue Devil Golfers Ready to Tee-off

The Huntington High School golf team can't wait to hit the links in March.

February 23, 2021

The Huntington High School golf team is getting ready to tee-off for the 2021 season. Play was moved from last fall to March-April due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Blue Devils can’t wait to hit the links.

Coached by Michael Marinello, Huntington has field a very competitive team over the past decade. This spring’s squad is expected to be quite young and Marinello is encouraging additional newcomers to join the fold. Interested high school students can either see the coach in the gym during the school day or send an e-mail to him at mmarinello@hufsd.edu.

The Blue Devils’ home course is the Huntington Crescent Club. The team will host Half Hollow Hills East in the season opener on March 17. Huntington faces Half Hollow Hills West on April 12 at Pine Hollow Country Club and Hills East a second time on April 13 at Bethpage State Park. The Blue Devils finish the regular season with a return match against Hills West on April 20 at Huntington Crescent Club. A post-season tournament is planned for the top teams.

Interested golfers need to sign-up in the high school nurse’s office this week and submit a signed interval health history form and a signed parent permission form. Both forms are available in the high school athletic office and on the district’s website.
