Blue Devil Soccer Star Teddi Carnesi Named All-State

Blue Devil soccer star Teddi Carnesi has been named to the All-State team after a fabulous season during which she helped lead the Huntington varsity squad to a playoff upset victory over Commack.

Captain of the Blue Devil soccer, basketball and softball teams, Ms. Carnesi is the president of Huntington’s Class of 2022. Treasurer of the high school’s National History Day club, the teenager is a Presidential Scholar.

“Teddi has given us everything she has for many years,” Blue Devil head coach John Walsh said. “She is an exceptional leader and she is very highly regarded by her teammates. She is very skilled and plays very hard. She’s clearly one of the state’s best players.”

A New York State Governor’s Youth Council semi-finalist, Ms. Carnesi is the sports editor of The Dispatch, Huntington High School’s student newspaper. She won the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizens Award.

Ms. Carnesi is a candidate for admission to the US Military Academy at West Point, the US Naval Academy at Annapolis and the US Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs.

A member of six separate academic honor societies, Ms. Carnesi is a New York State Scholar Athlete. She has regularly captured a spot on Huntington High School’s High Honor Roll.

US Representative Thomas Suozzi presented Ms. Carnesi with the Congressional Certificate of Merit. She earned awards in the National History Day research contest in both 2020 and 2021.

A Suffolk County Anti-Bias Task Force mentor, Ms. Carnesi was a moderator for the Suffolk Team Up for Unity initiative.

Ms. Carnesi plays viola in the high school orchestra. She’s helped organize various events and activities for Huntington High School’s Life Skills program students to assist in their social development.

The teenager has also been trained to serve as a Natural Helper. She confidentially assists classmates as they go about working through personal and family issues.

“I am so proud to wear a Huntington uniform,” Ms. Carnesi said.
