Some of the captains and their teams are planning for a one day community service activity unique to each of the Blue Devil squads. It’s a new initiative still in the developmental stage. Captains will help lead their teams to take on a one-time, one-day project in an effort to give back to the community that so generously supports the academic and co-curricular programs.
Projects will be featured on Huntington UFSD’s website and social media platforms and ultimately submitted to the NYSPHSAA for consideration for its community service award.
The goal is to one day have all Blue Devil sports programs participating in a community service project during their respective season. Captains are expected to play a key role in helping to get the initiative off the ground.
