Nate Deegan is a mature young man who is in control all the time. The Huntington High School senior presents himself well and people have taken notice. He works hard at everything he does and makes every minute count each day.
Mr. Deegan is nearing the end of a fabulous run through Huntington UFSD. He got his start at Washington Primary School and has steadily gained momentum. He’s pursued his interests with enthusiasm and has learned a lot about himself and what he’d might like to do with his life along the way.
“The two courses that I’m really looking forward to taking this year are Advanced Placement Micro/Macro Economics and AP Environmental Science,” Mr. Deegan said. “I’ve heard a lot of good things about Mr. [James] Graber and Ms. [Nicole] Cooper, which is why I’m very excited to take their classes and get to know them.”
Mr. Deegan is involved in a credit-bearing internship with the Huntington Booster Club, assisting the organization in a variety of ways and learning about the business operations of a not for profit.
The teenager works at Marty’s Seaford in Huntington village and he plans on putting in as many hours as possible this year. He enjoys the job and he’s good at it. He’s got a great sense of humor and is fun to be around.
“The only colleges that I’ve been able to visit are Towson and Saint Joseph’s University,” Mr. Deegan said. “I’ll definitely be applying to both since I really liked both of the campuses and I feel like I would fit in well. I don’t know exactly what I want do to for a career yet, but some things that come to mind are being in the restaurant business or getting a job in marketing.”
