Huntington Booster Club Reorganizes for New Year

The Huntington Booster Club has reorganized for the new school year. Several newcomers have joined the organization while returning volunteers has transitioned to new positions to fill the void left by those who departed after their child graduated.

Longtime Booster Club volunteer Joseph Mattio has assumed the presidency. The executive board also includes Ed McGuinness (treasurer), Erik Krisch (marketing/advertising), Maria Carnesi (grant coordinator), Trish Rongo (special events), Patti Weber (special events), Carolina Addeo (Finley merchandise coordinator), Lauren Meagher (merchandise trailer coordinator), Julie Porzio (merchandise trailer coordinator) and Michele Deegan (membership coordinator/special projects).

Booster Club associate members include Dawn Seitz, Thomas Galvin, Betsy Giamo, Tiffany Annunziata, Sharon Zink, Joe Zink, Al Addeo and Joe Pupillo.

Denise Petrizzi will be the mentor for intern Nate Deegan, who is a Huntington High School senior. Tim Madden is the summer camp coordinator.

The organization is searching for a field house coordinator for game day activities as well as someone interested in transitioning into the presidency for the 2021/22 school year.

The Huntington Booster Club has been remarkably effective at supporting Blue Devil sports programs across the district from middle school, JV and varsity teams to summer camps and intramural programs and even unique youth nights. In all, the organization has raised and donated more than $1.2 million to the district over the past decade to support student-athletes on all grade levels.

The Huntington Booster Club was established to promote and encourage extracurricular activities, particularly interscholastic sports for the students of the Huntington School District. The goals of the Booster Club are to provide financial support for annual awards, purchase of equipment, summer sports programs, and refreshments at athletic events and sports awards nights.
