Jefferson Primary School will host its first virtual parent workshop tomorrow (Wednesday, October 14) night at 7 p.m. Interested in participating in the session? Click on this link: https://forms.gle/8ANkmhxoTfR9C9Ep6.

“We worked with the Jefferson Shared Decision Making Advisory Committee to develop plans for the upcoming parent workshops,” Jefferson Principal Valerie Capitulo-Saide said. “We met several times to develop a survey for parents to see which topics would be of the most interest.”

Jefferson is striving to keep parents closely connected to the school during the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s a tall order, but the school is well on its way toward pulling it off.

“Our goal for our workshops is to teach the students how to problem solve and work more independently,” Ms. Capitulo-Saide said. “We want to teach the children leadership skills to enhance their lives.”

The following workshops will be offered in both English and Spanish:

  • Caring for children with anxiety
  • Tips for parents regarding virtual learning
  • Help with Google Classroom

“We look forward to welcoming our Jefferson families to our first evening of virtual parent workshops,” Ms. Capitulo-Saide said.
