Where has time gone? It’s difficult to believe that more than two months have already passed since classes resumed in Huntington UFSD for the 2020/21 school year. While the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing, Flower Hill Primary School students are continuing to display enthusiasm for their daily studies and activities.
Flower Hill Principal Lucia Laguarda was excited to present October’s Star Student Awards to a determined and energetic set of youngsters spread across grades kindergarten through third grade.
The students were given certificates to bring home to their respective family members and their names were listed on a special commemorative bulletin board to publicize their accomplishment.
October’s Star Student Award recipients include:
Kindergarten: Kevin Diaz Santos, London Freeman, Evelyn Waters
First Grade: Cayden Fernandez White, Nicholas Mills, August Iervolino,
Second Grade: Zachary Ali, Juliette Prior, Penelope Carey
Third Grade: Dean Michaelian, Ruby Richter, James Molina Tax, Owen Hoffman, Gretchen Schmid, Levin Martinez Contreras, Leo McTaggart-Levonte, Jr.
Flower Hill teachers write a short “blurb” about why their student was selected as one of the Starts of the Month. The previous month’s award alumni help celebrate the new honorees.
A cool video was created to provide each of the youngsters with some extra special recognition. It can be view by clicking on this link: https://video.link/w/RJKvb.
“It is so nice to be able to recognize such a great group of boys and girls,” Ms. Laguarda said. “They are a real credit to their families, our school and this community.”
