Washington Primary School rolled out the red carpet for February’s Washington Ways Award recipients, reading out the names of the honorees over the building’s public address system and presenting them with certificates in the main lobby before snapping commemorative photos with Principal Michelle Richards.
February’s individual honorees include Angie Garcia, Kevin Gomez Gomez, Sophie Adcock, Charli Brignoli, John Nicholas, Angelina Fischer, Louis Salzone, Aiden Rivera, Dayana Vazquez, Enzo Guardado, Joanna Chavez Moreira, Constance Bublin, Isabella Torres Maldonado, Geselle Chavez-Quintanilla, Angelica Cunningham, Claire Carmody and Yaqueline Zelaya.
The entire classes of teachers Joanne Tures, Suzanne Catrini and Melissa Gonzalez were also honored for their superb performance throughout the past month.
“We are thrilled to recognize these wonderful young people for the work they have been doing in our classrooms and throughout the building,” Dr. Richards said. “They are a credit to themselves and their families and we are all very proud of them.”
Washington will host a Family Night on Wednesday (March 11) with a focus on the Pick a Reading Partner program and STEM and the PTA’s book fair. The Washington PTA’s Movie Night is set for Friday, March 20. The Washington PTA will meet on Thursday, April 2 at 7 p.m. The Washington PTA will host Taco Night on Friday, April 24 at 7 p.m.
Washington is in the midst of its annual Pick a Reading Partner program. This year’s theme is the Kingdom of Books. The initiative will run through the end of the month.
