Flower Hill Primary School celebrated its Star Student Award recipients for February in typical fashion, announcing the names over the public address system and presenting members of the group with certificates.
“We are very fortunate to once again have a great group of boys and girls to recognize,” Flower Hill Principal Lucia Laguarda said. “We are very proud of each of these children and all the students in the building for giving their best effort every day.”
The honorees include:
Kindergarten: Alex Oromaner, Jonathan Hernandez Cisneros, Julia Cuy Tzoy
First grade: Ariana Monge Moreira, Penelope Carey, Sarai Acevedo Ayala
Second grade: Charlie Gordon, Molly Barba, James Oppenheim, Mahely Ordonez Fuentes
Third grade: Anne-Miriam Excellent-Mesidor, Steven Lapp, John Gentile, Dylan Goodwin, Andrea Rivera Rivera, Shelby Meystrik, Manuelle Hernandez Colon
Flower Hill’s Pick a Reading Partner program kicked off last Friday and will continue throughout the month. Students are being encouraged to read more than ever with a partner of their choosing.
Flower Hill has several upcoming events on the school calendar. The PTA is holding its annual Bingo Night on Friday, March 20. The school’s Math Night is set for Tuesday, March 31. The Flower Hill PTA will meet on Tuesday, April 28 at 7 p.m.
