Huntington boys’ and girls’ track 4x400m relays have both qualified for the Millrose Games at the New Balance Track & Field Center at the Armory in Manhattan on Saturday, February 8.

The Huntington “A” relay consisting of CJ Kiviat, Chad Rowe, Anthony Joseph and Justin Stevens bested the qualifying field of 19 teams, crossing the finish line in a time of 3:25.97.
The Blue Devils came close to qualifying a second 4x400m relay for the Millrose Games finals. Huntington’s Jahmar Francis, Isaiah James, Julio Martinez and Bryce Robinson placed seventh in a time of 3:31.44.
Huntington finished on the heels of Freeport (3:30.02) and East Meadow (3:31.09). “We were very close,” Blue Devil head coach Ronald Wilson said.
The Huntington girls’ 4x400m relay placed third in the qualifier in a time of 4:03.07, slightly off first place Freeport (3:59.69) and second place Elmont (4:01.45) but ahead of everyone else in the 18 team field.
The Blue Devil girls’ relay included Alicia Brooks, Caroline O’Rourke, Analisse Batista and Brianna Halbeisen. Batista ran an especially outstanding 400m split, being timed at 56.423 seconds.
Alicia Brooks also ran well in the 55m dash, finishing third in a field of 91 in a time of 7.36 seconds.
Gary Barash recorded a distance of 53-02.50 feet in weight throw to place tenth in a field of 27.
