Most children like to show-off and Flower Hill Primary School dual language program students really shined during recent grade level social studies presentations the youngsters made while speaking Spanish.

Kindergarten students sang a song and shared their interests. First graders presented their families using pictures and kind words. Second graders focused on United States symbols, including the Liberty Bell, American flag and the bald eagle. Third graders taught the audience about different countries around the world and their unique characteristics.

“Our classrooms were filled with eager students, happy teachers and proud parents,” Flower Hill Principal Lucia Laguarda said. “It was an uplifting event for all in attendance.”

Dual language teachers Gabriella Escorbores (kindergarten), Erika Brignati (first grade), Arlette Espstein (second grade) and Glenn Edwards (third grade) and teacher aide Wanda Rivera-Wilson all beamed with pride as the students made their presentations.
