Carmine De Ieso is a very decisive young man. He’s an incredible competitor and leader, too. When it came time to choose a college he quickly knew which one would be the best fit for his academic interests and career goals: Fairfield University in Connecticut.
“Fairfield is a school that I looked at and knew right away it was for me,” Mr. De Ieso said. “It has a beautiful campus. What made me choose it is its amazing business school.”
Huntington senior Carmine De Ieso will be attending Fairfield University
The Huntington senior will be studying international business in Fairfield’s Dolan School of Business. “I want to work internationally and use my Italian speaking skills to do business all around the world,” Mr. De Ieso said.
The highlight of the year for the teenager has been winning the league championship with the Blue Devil varsity soccer team. “Being captain of such an amazing team was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in high school,” Mr. De Ieso said. “I’ll never forget the family type relationship I had with my teammates and coaches.”
Mr. De Ieso’s advice for incoming Huntington freshmen? “Work hard and be yourself,” he said. “High school may seem intimidating at first, but if you are confident and work hard, you’ll succeed. Get involved in clubs and sports and your high school experience will be amazing.”
The senior is well-liked around the high school. He has a lively personality and gets along well with everyone. “I’ve had so many great teachers throughout my school years, but one teacher I really got along with was Mr. [Erik] Bruckbauer,” said Mr. De Ieso about the veteran high school social studies faculty member. “He taught me a lot and I always had a fun experience in his classroom.”
Mr. De Ieso is looking forward to his final few months of high school and creating many more happy memories before he moves on to Fairfield University in Connecticut.
“My experience over the last four years at Huntington have been amazing; I couldn’t have asked to attend a better school,” Mr. De Ieso said. “I’ve had amazing friends and phenomenal teachers, who I give full credit for making me who I am. My parents have also played a huge part in my life and I thank them for everything. I’ll be a Blue Devil forever.”
