A spectacular set of eighteen Huntington High School musicians and vocalists has been recognized as All-County by the New York State Council of Administrators of Music Education.

“These talented students were chosen based on prior New York State School Music Assn. solo evaluation scores, teacher recommendations, membership in previous All-County festivals and participation in honors ensembles,” said Eric Reynolds, Huntington UFSD’s director of fine and performing arts. “The achievements of our students represent mastery in their musical studies and a true pursuit of excellence.”

The group includes the following musicians and vocalists:

Band: Nicholas Danseglio (flute), Caroline Kilgour (flute), Bryan Wong (trumpet)

Chorus: Sarah Biernacki (alto), Chloe Buffone (soprano), Axel Cattano (bass), Nathaniel Deegan (bass), Katherine Eichenberger (alto), Jaiden Erickson (tenor), Andrew Florvil (tenor), Saahil Kapoor (tenor), Joseph Tropeano (bass)

Orchestra: Eliana Ng (flute), Lily O’Heir (flute), Allison Quinn (violin), Mary Grace Rorke (harp), Ella Siepel (viola), Grace Wildermuth (double bass)

The musicians and vocalists are studying with Huntington High School music teachers James DeMeglio, Victoria Garbarino, Jason Giachetti and Brian Stellato.

“The Fine and Performing Arts Department is proud to have these represent our school and community,” Mr. Reynolds said. “Recognition festivals, such as NYSCAME, reflect the commitment and support the Fine and Performing Arts Department continuously receives for the board of education, district and building administration and the faculty and staff of Huntington UFSD.”

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, NYSCAME has decided to cancel this year’s All-County festival rehearsals and concert. The organization is planning to honor the selected students and working on an alternative performance experience.
