As Jefferson Primary School eyes the end of 2019 and the beginning of a new year, Principal Valerie Capitulo-Saide presented the most recent round of Citizen of the Month Awards to a group of eager youngsters.
Jefferson’s 300 students are spread across kindergarten through third grade. Every single one of them has a personal story to tell complete with their own strengths, interests, goals and favorite subject areas.
Jefferson students are all enthusiastic and happy to be in school. Just about everyone gets along with their classmates and the rest of the student body.
November’s Citizen of the Month Award recipients all demonstrated safety, respect and responsibility. Ms. Capitulo-Saide posed for a commemorative photo with the group in the school gymnasium. Each of the youngsters was presented with a handsome certificate and a medal on a ribbon to bring home to their loved ones.
The award recipients included Antonio Ackerly, Mia Angeles, Cristian Bonilla Mejia, Emmett Booth, Cali Cabal, Nicolas Chán-Camargo, Jeffrey Cisneros Garcia, Briana Funes Torres, Luca Garcia, Marco Garcia, Davney Liguori, Jeffery Maldonado Diaz, Montserrat Mani Munoz, Deilyn Martinez Moreira, Heydi Rodriguez, Emily Schmid and Kayla Smith.
Jefferson will host a student boutique and holiday vendor night this Friday from 5-9 p.m. There will be food and fun for folks of all ages.
Jefferson’s winter songfest is scheduled in the school gym on Tuesday, December 17. There are various holiday activities slated for classrooms and around the building.
