Tickets are on sale online at www.harlemwizards.com. Click on Schedule & Tickets and then scroll to the calendar and go to April 9. There are four different types of tickets available including ones for students ($12), adults ($15), reserved ($20; close to the court with a free team poster) and “courtside plus” ($45; pre-game meet and greet with Wizards players, free lanyard, team poster and a $10 discount on a Wizards replica jersey).
“Started in 1962 by New York sports promoter Howie Davis and now celebrating 57 years of Wizardry, he envisioned a show and organization that would put a different spin on show basketball,” according to the team’s website. “The Wizards are a show basketball entity delivering wildly successful fundraiser events for schools and nonprofits, last season alone playing in over 400 communities across the USA, while raising over $2 million.”
A ticket order form is also available on the Huntington UFSD website at www.hufsd.edu. Complete the order form and attach a check in the proper amount payable to Finley PTA. Drop-off the ticket form and check at the Finley main office during school hours.
“What makes a Wizards show awe-inspiring?” asks the team’s website. “Some say it’s the oohs and aahs created by the thunderous, sky-high slams. For others it’s the humor and seeing the teachers being good sports and having fun on the court with the Wizards. The comedy, the audience participation, the spontaneity delivered as a world class show, in an intimate and community setting adds up to a night to be experienced and treasured. The Wizards roster is full of amazing hoop talent.”
