Southdown's third grade class is an outstanding collection of boys and girls.

June 26, 2019

Southdown Primary School third graders are a proud bunch of youngsters and they received all the attention they deserve at this week’s moving-up exercises in the gymnasium.

Southdown Principal Scott Oshrin spoke warmly about the group that has accomplished so much over the past four years. The students are headed off to either Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School or Woodhull Intermediate School, but regardless of where they will be studying, one thing appears clear; they are destined for success.

Third grade class representatives Emma Barch, Rocco Caruso, Hailey Collins, Jackson Dickson, Quinn Fehrenbacher, Jack Handler, Camila Jimenez, Gabriella Jones, Campbell Proctor and Asa Sachs all played key roles in the ceremony.

There were speeches, poem readings, a pair of songs and a commemorative slideshow. Parents dabbed tears from their eyes and everyone seemed to be either taking photographs or filming the proceedings.

You’re a very special person,
And we want you to know.
How we loved to be your teachers,
How fast the weeks did go!
Please come back to visit us
As through the grades you grow,
Try hard to learn all that you can,
There is so much to know!!
The one thing we try to teach you,
To last your whole life through,
Is to know that you are special
Just because you are you!!!
