It’s been another banner year for the Huntington High School art program, with a long list of awards and honors garnered at shows and exhibits and in competitions.
The Huntington School Board recognized the top student artists during a public meeting of trustees earlier this week in the Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School auditorium.
Huntington High School’s art faculty consists of teachers Ayallah Jeddah, Jane Judson, Kasmira Mohanty, Pam Piffard, Kristin Singer, Heather Swan and Kim Valerio. Eric Reynolds serves as the district director of fine and performing arts
Huntington School Board President Jennifer Hebert and Superintendent James W. Polansky announced the names of honorees and presented each of them with a certificate. The crowd in attendance gave the high school student-artists repeated rounds of applause.
“These young people are not only talented students and artists, but also ambassadors to their school and community,” Mr. Polansky said. “We are beyond proud of the work they continue to produce and the new heights they continue to reach in all regards.”
