Valerie Capitulo-Saide was thrilled to honor 16 superb students during a recent assembly program in the gym. The Jefferson Primary School principal is always happy to recognize students who have earned it for demonstrating safe, responsible and respectful behavior in a very special way.

January’s honorees include Jovani Campos, Aiden Colin, Josue Granados Medrano, Alex Holley, Michelle Parker, Dariana Portillo Hernandez, Angelly Rivas Jerez, Iliana Jarmolowski, Christian Mendez, David Molina, Jonathan Naborre, Richie Palma Palma, Daniella Petrone, Kayvon Pittman, Michael Ticas Segovia and Rozelle Wilde.

The honorees were assembled for group photos while they were holding their Citizen of the Month certificates. All four dozen award winners also posed for a photo with Ms. Capitulo-Saide. It was clear they were a very happy bunch and quite proud, too.

Many special events are on the horizon. The Jefferson School PTA is sponsoring VIP Night on Friday, February 8. Jefferson’s dual language students will be participating in a special event on Thursday, February 14 along with their counterparts at Flower Hill, Southdown and Washington schools.

Jefferson’s Pick a Reading Partner program kicks off on Friday, March 1. Jefferson’s jamboree and book fair will be held on Wednesday, March 6 with the book fair continuing the next day on Thursday, March 7.

The Jefferson School PTA has meetings scheduled for Tuesday, February 5 at 7 p.m. and on Wednesday, March 13 at 9:45 a.m.
