Anna Crockett doesn’t let anything get her down for very long. The Huntington High School senior has a sunny disposition, which along with an unsurpassed work ethic and a personality that can’t be beat has helped make her one of the top students in the Class of 2019.
The senior’s closest friends include Christie Baade, Sophia Lacentra, Cameron Fehrs, Danielle Lamarco, Ariana Strieb and Kaitlyn Smith.

“Anna is such a strong, intelligent and overall wonderful person and friend,” Ms. LaCentra said. “She has stuck by my side all through high school and I couldn’t imagine going through these last four years without her. I am extremely proud to call her one of my best friends and I’m excited to see all the amazing things I know she will do after graduation.”
Ms. Crockett’s academic schedule includes classes in Advanced Placement Government and Politics, AP English Literature and Composition, Calculus, Physics and Spanish.
“Anna is one of the strongest and hardest-working people I know,” Ms. Fehrs said. “I’m happy to call her one of my best friends. I know she’ll be successful in whatever she does.”
A member of seven different academic honor societies, including the National Honor Society as well as the Science, Social Studies, Art, English, Math and Spanish honor societies, Ms. Crockett is the women’s empowerment club secretary. She’s also a member of the Interact club and a Natural Helper, assisting classmates as they work through difficult personal circumstances.
Ms. Crockett got her start in Huntington UFSD as a kindergartener at Flower Hill Primary School. She works at Blush Huntington clothing store, which bills itself as “a boutique for girls.”
“Anna is an overachieving student,” Ms. Baade said. “She’s always on top of all her work. She’s not only a star student, but a great friend. Anna is someone who you can talk to about anything and she’ll be right there by your side helping you through it. I’m so lucky to have Anna as my best friend and I’m excited to see all the amazing things that she’ll accomplish.”
The senior hasn’t finalized her college plans just yet. If she decides to attend Binghamton University, she intends to study social work. If she ultimately goes to Villanova University she plans to pursue a degree in psychology. “I hope to be social worker or mental health counselor,” Ms. Crockett said.
The teenager’s favorite teachers have included Joann Ferazi, Deborah Beck, Danielle Lusardi, Camille Tedeschi and Elizabeth Casazza.
“Anna is a pleasure to teach,” Mrs. Casazza said. “She’s a serious, hardworking student that thrives to do her best. She’s kind and respectful to everyone. Her friendly demeanor has been consistent throughout high school. Anna will be a wonderful asset in college. I have no doubt she will be successful and make lots of lifelong friends.”
Ms. Crockett leads a very well balanced life. “I love traveling,” she said. “I’ve been to Mexico over 10 times. I even went to Australia at six months old! I went on an Eastern Europe trip where we visited the Prague, Krakow, Budapest and Vienna. I also have been to Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.”
The teenager always seems to find a way to accomplish her goals. Ms. Crockett’s success is anything but accidental. She works so hard and prepares so well. Success follows naturally.
“I have loved my experience at Huntington High School,” Ms. Crockett said. “The school is so diverse and loving. I have always felt so welcomed and the teachers and staff have always been there to help me with anything.”
