The Huntington High School football program is gearing up for what it hopes will be another championship season. Blue Devil football families are kicking off the year with a tailgate dinner and alumni meet and greet fundraiser at the Huntington Fire Department on Saturday, August 17 from 5-9 p.m. The entire community and kids of all ages are invited to attend.
Huntington took the field for football for the first time in 1895. The program has won more than 400 varsity games and countless titles over the years, producing many players that have gone on to the college and NFL ranks. Who will be the stars of this year’s Blue Devil varsity team?
Varsity football team families will provide a potluck style dinner on Saturday, August 17. Water and iced tea will also be provided. Tickets are available for $15 for adults and $8 for children ages 10 and younger.
A push to get as many Blue Devil alumni as possible to attend the dinner is underway. Coaches past and present are also expected to be on hand along with other district dignitaries.
Alumni are encouraged to “spread the word” about the event. Everyone is invited to attend.
