A member of Huntington’s National Honor Society chapter, Ms. Minicozzi was also inducted into the Italian Honor Society, Math Honor Society and English Honor Society. She played on the Blue Devil varsity field hockey and softball teams.

An upbeat, personable and happy teenager, Ms. Minicozzi said the keys to her success have been studying hard, pushing herself and never giving up on the pursuit of her goals, even when she was told they were impossible to reach.

Ms. Gleicher was a member of the high school’s math department faculty for three decades prior to her retirement. The $300 Judith Gleicher Mathematics Achievement Award is funded by the Math Honor Society.

The award was presented to Ms. Minicozzi by Kathleen Aufiero, the district’s chair of mathematics, 7-12.
