There isn’t a day that goes by that Paige Lennon isn’t thinking about the United States Military Academy at West Point. The Huntington High School senior has made a commitment to play lacrosse there, study for a commission and ultimately serve her country after graduation.
The teenager attended Flower Hill Primary School. She’s always been well-liked and displayed leadership qualities. She has an inquisitive mind and a friendly nature. She elicits loyalty and readily gives it to those closest to her.

Ms. Lennon has long eyed West Point and she’s getting increasingly excited about it as the reality draws closer. She just completed the Blue Devil soccer season during which she captained the team and garnered All-League recognition. She will soon be starting basketball and will be playing lacrosse in the spring.
The senior participates in the Young Leaders youth development organization’s activities and she’s a member of the high school’s Interact Club. She is set to be an assistant coach of a fifth grade girls’ lacrosse team after coaching that same group last year. “I do a lot with sports whether it be clinics or bake sales or training the younger kids,” Mr. Lennon said.
The teenager is relaxed as she makes her way around the high school. She approaches each new experience as an opportunity to learn and grow as a person.
Ms. Lennon counts Shaye O’Beirne, Abby Machin, Marissa Stafford, Sophie Dellecave, Maya Santa-Maria and Lena Annunziata as among her closest friends.
“Paige is one of my best friends and she always is there for me whenever I need advice or help,” Ms. Stafford said. “She is one of the toughest workers and I can always count on her to make me laugh or to push me to work harder.”
Relationships are important to Ms. Lennon and she works hard at them. “Paige always knows how to put a smile on everyone’s face,” Ms. Maichin said. “She is one of my best friends and I am so thankful to have her in my life. She’s the funniest person on the court and field, in school and literally anywhere. She always makes everyone around her so happy.”
Ms. Lennon likes to keep busy and Huntington’s coaches are thrilled she’s a three sport athlete. They have come to depend on her for clutch plays and her ability to lead her teammates through difficult situations.
“Paige Lennon is an amazing friend and an amazing person,” Ms. Annunziata said. “She does everything to the best of her ability and never backs down from a challenge. I am so lucky to have her as a friend. I know that with her strength, wisdom and kindness she has a huge future ahead of her.”
The senior’s current academic schedule includes classes in Advanced Placement Photography, forensics, economics pre-calculus, Spanish, journalism and orchestra.
Ms. Lennon’s favorite teachers include Michael Schwendemann, Lynn Hendricks, Steven Kroll and Judy Pazienza. She is respectful, well-prepared and articulate. Folks of all ages like her.
After all these years in the district, the senior is an integral member of the school community. “I’m very happy that I went here,” Ms. Lennon said. “It has been such a great experience and I couldn’t have asked that it to be any other way.”
