Jenna Yabroudy is a happy, friendly, super smart teenager. The Huntington High School senior is taking a challenging set of courses, but still has found the time to get involved in sports and clubs while investigating a list of college options and thinking about career possibilities.
Ms. Yabroudy is a confident young woman who always has a smile on her face. She’s unstintingly loyal to her friends and family and works hard at everything she does.

The senior’s academic schedule includes courses in Advanced Placement Physics, AP Calculus AB, AP Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, AP Research, Career and Financial Management and Business Management.
Ms. Yabroudy is planning on applying to as many as 10 colleges. “My top schools that I’m looking at are the University of Washington, Virginia Tech, Purdue University and Indiana University at Bloomington,” she said. “I’m even looking at the Air Force ROTC at Virginia Tech. I’m definitely interested in business.”
A member of the Blue Devil varsity soccer team, Ms. Yabroudy was intending to be active in all three sports seasons this year, but fate intervened. “I was planning to participate in winter and spring track, but I recently tore my ACL so I won’t be able to participate, but I’ll still be on the team helping out maybe as a manager,” she said.
The teenager is involved in the Young Leaders youth development organization, Interact Club, AWOD (A World of Difference), National Honor Society, Science Honor Society, Math Honor Society and the Relay For Life planning committee.
Ms. Yabroudy and her classmates are spending time working to keep the high school’s Relay For Life event up and running next spring despite major challenges. “We are trying to figure out what our plan is for this year,” she said.
The teenager loves adventure as well as a good challenge. She has done some traveling, including a trip to Ireland with many of her classmates through EF Tours. She will be participating in a trip to Italy in February.
Ms. Yabroudy’s closest friends include Alyssa Sorensen, Christie Baade, Nicole Walsh, Adriana Scarpati and Kiara Rafailan.
Jenna Yabroudy is one of a kind,” Ms. Baade said. “There’s never a day when she doesn’t put 100 percent into everything she does. She is an incredibly hardworking student and athlete and never fails to put a smile on everyone’s face. Jenna is a person who you can talk to about anything and she will be right there by your side helping you through it. Even after her injury, she had a positive attitude and won’t let anything get in her way. I am very lucky to have Jenna as one of my closest friends and wouldn’t want that to ever change.”
Among the teenager’s favorite teachers are Camille Tedeschi, Suzi Biagi and Beth Vogelsang. But she gets along with everyone and the entire faculty respects and admires her. It’s been that way ever since she began kindergarten classes at Jefferson Primary School.
“Huntington has made me the person I am today,” Ms. Yabroudy said. “I was able to meet new friends, challenge myself with the variety of classes they have to offer and join several sports teams. Huntington has so many opportunities out there and it is an amazing place to call home.”
