Ashlyn Case is a well-liked, easygoing young woman who has a variety of interests and a very definite idea of where she wants to go. The Huntington High School senior is a real people-person. She enjoys interacting with everyone and she especially likes helping others.
It didn’t take long for Ms. Case’s teachers and classmates to realize just how special she is. During her earliest days as a Southdown Primary School kindergartener she began impressing folks of all ages. She’s personable, articulate and bright, but it’s her warm personality that really wins people over.

Ms. Case’s current academic schedule includes Advanced Placement Government and Politics, AP Studio Art Drawing, AP Literature and Composition, Pre-Calculus, Physics, French 5 Honors and Economics.
Vice President of Huntington High School’s Class of 2019, Ms. Case is also the vice president of the Grandfriends club. She’s a member of the National Honor Society, English Honor Society and Women’s Empowerment club and she volunteers with Habitat for Humanity.
Ms. Case’s closest friends are Nina Danseglio, Christian Bellissimo, Alyssa Sorensen, Casey Smith and Katherine Giordano.
“Ashlyn has been my best friend for many years,” Ms. Sorensen said. “She is always there for me, whether it’s advice or just a laugh. She’s determined to achieve her goals in life and I adore that. She inspires me every day and makes me so proud that she’s my best friend.”
The teenager’s favorite teachers include Thomas Tantillo, Victoria Lombardi, Edward Florea, Deborah Beck, Kelly Quintero and Christopher Taylor.
“Ashlyn is a bright and bubbly girl,” Ms. Lombardi said. “She has such a kind heart and she really made our AP Language and Composition class entertaining every day. She always put forth consistent effort and I'm so proud of the young woman she has become!”
Ms. Case has made a notable impression on all of her teachers. “Ashlyn is an amazing young lady that no matter how challenging honors chemistry class was she always came in with a smile and was ready for a cranial workout,” Mr. Florea said. “Ashlyn has always been a cornerstone for our students to rely on for help big and small. Her positive contributions to Huntington and the student body will easily outlast her stay within these walls. I look forward to seeing the amazing future that awaits such a well-rounded Blue Devil.”
The list of colleges that Ms. Case is especially interested in includes Quinnipiac University, Fairfield University, Binghamton University, Villanova University and the University of Delaware.
“I am applying into direct entry nursing programs in the hope of becoming a registered nurse and eventually a neonatal or pediatric nurse practitioner,” Ms. Case said. “All my life I've known I wanted to pursue a career that involves healing people, so I know that the nursing profession will suit me.”
Ms. Case is a high achiever and she has definitely made a positive mark over the past four years. She’s gets along with everyone and she’s always ready to help anyone who needs it.
“I definitely feel like I’ve made the most out of my four years at Huntington High School,” Ms. Case said. “I’ve enjoyed being a part of such a dynamic school that has so much to offer. I’m so grateful for the friendships I’ve made and experiences I’ve had that have made my time at Huntington unforgettable!”
