The Art Honor Society’s membership also includes Yenifer Aguilar, Tahiyat Akber, Kelly Alfaro-Alvarez, Colette Barron, Brooke Biernacki, Katie Bonilla, Erin Bonitz, Danielle Brite, Katie Burton, Niurca Chabla, Jordan Cook, Anna Crockett, Beana Cumella, Mia D’Alessandro, Sophie Dellecave, Nina Drakulich, Elizabeth Dugan, Emma Farrell, Erik Flores, Natalie Furman, Katie Giordano, Olivia Genova, Julia Giles, Nataly Giron-Vicente, Francesca Greco, Isabelle Grenier, Caroline Hartough, Arielle Harvey, Kainat Ikram, Kerrie Joyce, Molly Kessler, Yasmin Khilji-Neal and Anna Koulakova.

The organization’s members recently collaborated on a project at Washington Primary School that was tied to the PTA’s fall book fair. The artists created “enchanted forest” themed decorations. The results are impressive and have enhanced the building’s main lobby and the hallway entrance to the library .

“Many of the students were excited to be able to give back to their former elementary school,” Ms. Judson said. “They all remember the fun and excitement that surrounded the scholastic book fairs.”

Art Honor Society members created the artwork at the high school. Members Shaye O’Beirne, Emely Lopez, Paige Mangan, Rocio Trujillo and Caitlyn Palermo came to Washington to install it in the two locations. “Washington art teacher Maria Mazzola was an amazing help throughout the process as well,” Ms. Judson said.

Ms. Judson enjoys working with the group as its faculty advisor. She has been a Huntington art teacher since October 2015. A graduate of Hicksville High School, she obtained undergraduate and graduate degrees from Adelphi University in art education and LIU Post in educational technology, respectively.

Ms. Judson has shown her work in several exhibits including the NYS Art Teachers Association member’s exhibit and at the Heckscher Museum and Adelphi University’s Performing Arts Center. She presented a workshop at the New York State Art Teachers Association’s annual conference.
