Christie Baade is one of Huntington High School’s happiest seniors. She doesn’t allow anything to get her down for very long, instead exuding confidence and a sunny disposition.
Ms. Baade is an upbeat young woman who likes to laugh, even at herself. She’s popular with her teachers and classmates and always has something kind to say about someone.

The senior’s closest friends include Anna Crockett, Jenna Yabroudy, Caroline Lenze and Emma Grassi. Ms. Baade is known as a good listener and for her loyalty to family and friends. She’s dependable and she can always be counted on by anyone who needs her.
“Christie always knows how to brighten someone’s day and always has a smile on her face,” Ms. Yabroudy said. “She is always positive and always there for you and I’m glad to have her as a friend. Christie has a bright future ahead of her and I can’t wait to see all the exciting things she will do.”
Ms. Baade’s favorite teachers have been Jordan Schessler, Judy Pazienza and Elizabeth Casazza. She gets along with everyone and is famous for her easygoing personality and bubbly nature.
An essential member of the Blue Devil tennis and basketball teams, Ms. Baade has always been athletic and has played on Huntington sports teams through middle school and high school.
The teenager comes from a very close knit family. Her parents, Kathleen and Christopher attend all of her matches and games and regularly host team parties at their house. Ms. Baade’s older sister, Brooke was a member of Huntington’s Class of 2016 and her younger sister, Abby is an eighth grader at J. Taylor Finley Middle School. All three girls have played multiple sports and are easily recognizable figures around the community.
Ms. Baade has compiled a list of colleges that offer the academic program that she is currently interested in. Her sister, Brooke is a junior at the University at Albany. That’s one of the schools on her list, too.
“I’m definitely looking into multiple schools in here New York, specifically ones that have a great department of psychology, in which I plan to pursue a major,” Ms. Baade said.
As she heads into the final months of her time in high school, Ms. Baade plans to keep smiling all the way to next June’s commencement.
“I absolutely loved my high school experience at Huntington,” Ms. Baade said. “I was able to really grow as a person here and make so many memories. I would never change anything about it.”
