Flower Hill Primary School is a very special place with a wonderful group of more than 300 students spread across kindergarten through third grade.
Late last week, some of Flower Hill’s best and brightest were honored as October’s Star Students. Their names were announced over the public address system and their photos were placed on a special bulletin board in the building.

The award winners were presented with certificates and medals. They were the assembled together and took a commemorative photo with Flower Hill social worker Gisselle Soto.
“Our Star Students are a great group of boys and girls who are all working hard with their teachers as well as being kind and considerate to their classmates,” Principal Lucia Laguarda said. “We are so proud of them.”
Flower Hill’s faculty and paraprofessional staff members take delight in encouraging students who do their best every day and enjoy telling the youngsters when they have done something especially commendable. One student from each class is singled out monthly in a special way.
Every youngster in the school wants to earn a Star Student Award at some point and who can blame them? Honorees are made to feel like princes and princesses for a day.
Few things can possibly compare to watching a youngster walk on air after being cited for a job well done. The monthly Star Student Award ceremony is an opportunity to motivate every student in the school to work hard.
