On Tuesday, May 15 a fashion show consisting exclusively of student clothing designs will be held at 4 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. Artwork of every possible type will be exhibited throughout the day from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Residents voting on the budget and capital reserve propositions and three trustee positions will be able to conveniently visit the art show either before or after casting their ballots.

On Wednesday, May 16 the exhibits will be open to the public from 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitors are welcome to spend as much time viewing the show as they so desire on either day.

“The show will once again allow students from across the district to display their outstanding talents and works of art representing the full range of artistic media,” Huntington Superintendent James W. Polansky said. “Tuesday, May 15 will include an added treat, specifically the Huntington High School fashion students modeling their own creations on the runway. Collectively, this is an event that no one will wish to miss!”

Some of the works on display will carry blue ribbons of excellence, designating the piece as one of “high merit,” in the opinion of a distinguished panel of judges that will be reviewing the exhibits.

The district’s art program has once again enjoyed a banner year. Huntington students have captured a long list of awards in numerous contests and shows. These award winning pieces will also be on exhibit during the show.
