Washington Primary School Principal Marsha Neville is savoring her final weeks on the job before calling it a career and retiring at the end of June. The veteran educator recently presented dozens of students with awards for their work and efforts around the school.
Mrs. Neville asked Washington teachers to have their classes line the hallways one recent morning before announcing the names of May’s Washington Ways Award recipients. As each name was announced and the youngsters marched down the hall toward the main lobby, classmates cheered the award winners as if they were conquering heroes.
The Washington Ways Award recipients included Jayden Lamy, Matthew Osorio, Enzo Guardado, Rafaella Moss, Mia Fils-Aime, Aiyanna Petro-Young, Mason Ubriaco, Darren Krantz, Jonathan Alvarado-Villatorio, Samantha Martinez, Emmet Cocoman, Timothy Hardge, Sofia Villatoro, Addison Delfino, Jasmine Adcock, Michael Munsch, Paola Lopez-Flores, Brian Banegas, Andy Flores-Reyes, Ana Bonilla and Tiffany Campos Saravia. The entire classes of Vanessa Ulloa and Vivian Joseph were also honored with awards.
June’s Featured Artists are an impressive group of youngsters. Their artwork is currently on display in the school’s main hallway outside the cafeteria. The students have been working with art teacher Maria Mazzola.
Washington’s latest group of featured artists includes Gabriella Mejia Alfaro, Pfeiffer Laycock, Leslie Cisneros Morales, Edwin Lopez, Howard Rosenstone, Darren Krantz, Jr., John Hernandez Gomez, Cristian Diaz Obando, Adrian Revuelta, Natalie Mullaly, Caleigh Camarata, Jazlin Garcia Gamez, Kaylee Mata, Darlin Merlos Campos, Devin Splendorio, Paola Lopez Flores, Tiffany Campos Saravia and Cristian Mejia Morales.
“It’s truly my privilege to recognize these wonderful boys and girls for their effort, performance, kindness and artistic talents,” Mrs. Neville said. “All of us here at Washington Primary School are very proud of them.”
