Finley Parents Introduced to Naviance Family Connection

Finley eighth grade parents are being introduced to Naviance's Family Connection online program.

January 22, 2018

The parents of J. Taylor Finley Middle School eighth graders are being introduced to Huntington’s Naviance Family Connection program. Access codes and log-in instructions have been mailed to homes.

The platform is billed as “a powerful online tool that helps students with organization, resume building and college and career searches, as well as vocational exploration.”

Once parents use the materials they have been sent to access the online program, they need to enter their email address and click “save” so the district’s guidance department can send them electronic communications via the system.

“Family Connection access codes were already distributed to students through their Family and Consumer Science classes,” wrote District Director of Guidance Kitty R. Klein in a letter mailed to parents. “However, if your child is not currently scheduled for this course, was absent on the day the program was introduced or forgot his/her user name and password, have your child stop in the guidance office and see their counselor.”

Middle school students and parents will maintain Naviance Family Connection user names and access codes/passwords throughout high school. “I encourage parents to explore the many facets of this interactive program,” Ms. Klein said.

A copy of the letter sent to parents along with the Naviance Family Connection instruction sheet are posted on the district’s website at www.hufsd.edu.
