Washington School's Featured Artists for January.
The entire classes of teachers Wendy Bonilla and Melissa Studdert were named the Blue Ticket Award recipients for December.
Here’s how the Washington Ways program works:
White tickets are awarded weekly for good behaviors and actions in the classroom. White ticket winners are honored with special recognition in their classroom at the end of each week and their names are announced every Monday morning.
Red tickets are presented to individuals for notable good behavior outside of classrooms, including in hallways, buses, the playground and cafeteria, etc. At the end of the month, the student in each class with the greatest number of red tickets is recognized with a special certificate.
Entire classes can earn blue tickets for positive group behavior out-of-the-classroom. Blue tickets are also awarded to the two classes within the building with the most tickets overall.
January’s Featured Artists Recognized
Art teacher Maria Mazzola joined with Mrs. Neville to recognize Washington School’s Featured Artists of January. One youngster in each class was chosen to have a piece of their artwork placed on exhibit in the building’s main hallway throughout the month.
The talented artists include Byron Jimenez, Vincent Fiore, Russell Chowdhury, Ashley Avalos Cedillos, Daniel Stabile, Jason Campos Castillo, Yasmin Palacios, Alexander Knapp, Anabella Rafailan, Rylie Rabino, Javier Velasquez Mancia, Yastelin Ochoa Alvarez, Samuel Rivera Umanzor, Aubrie Godin, Ana Bonilla Gomez, Julianna Ackerman and Lenin Reyes Orellana.
“It’s wonderful to recognize our Washington Ways Award recipients along with our Featured Artists of January,” Mrs. Neville said. “These children are especially hardworking and creative and we are fortunate to have them among the students attending our school.”
