Universal Pre-Kindergarten Applications Now Available

Huntington UFSD is seeking applications for its universal pre-kindergarten program.

February 7, 2018

The Huntington School District is accepting applications for its 2018/19 universal pre-kindergarten program. The deadline to submit an application is Monday, April 30.

The program is open to Huntington School District residents who will be four years old by December 1, 2018. The half-day program will follow the district’s school calendar. Classes will meet for 2½ hours per day.

A total of 124 seats split between morning and afternoon sessions are anticipated. Classes will be held at Flower Hill Primary School, Jefferson Primary School, Southdown Primary School, Washington Primary School and Developmental Disabilities Institute-Starting Early. Transportation will be available to the in-district sites.

Student placement at individual buildings will be dependent on specific registration numbers. If necessary, a lottery will be held on May 10, 2018. Registration for the program will follow the lottery and parent notifications. Residency documentation will be required during the registration process.

While applicants can indicate a preference for morning or afternoon sessions or for school location, there are a limited number of seats in each building and it might not be possible to honor all such requests.

Applications can be submitted electronically or via US Mail or dropped off at the district office located at 50 Tower Street in Huntington Station.
