Flower Hill Primary School gave its students a dose of excitement last week when it announced that names of the monthly Star Student Awards along with the winning class for the building-wide award.
The students were recognized for displaying a long list of desirable qualities from working hard and cooperating with teachers and classmates to expressing a positive attitude in everything they do around the building.
November’s honorees include:
Kindergarten: Charlotte Milner, Sarai Acevedo Ayala, Arianna Wilson
First grade: Charlotte Kindelmann, Andrew Hollweg, James Oppenheim, Cristian Bonilla Mejia
Second grade: Gianna Parides, Alan Bardales Arevalo, Deili Sanchez, Matthew Krull, Jonathan Alvarado-Villatoro
Third grade: Charles Rosselli, Aaliyah White, Grace Bartasi, Edgar Reyes Benetiz, Michelle Calix Pineda, Cameron Batts, Jory Morgan-Page, Ada Khan
Teacher Veronica Quinlan’s third grade class was named Flower Hill’s Star Class Award winner. Lunch monitors Debbie Smith, Rosa Caraballo, Lakeya Thomason and Veronica Perez helped organize a new recognition system, creating a class scoreboard and giving out stars. The staff members are working hard to promote kind and positive behavior in the cafeteria and outside on the playground. Stars are awarded to classes at the end of each week with the results tabulated an overall winner announced monthly.
“It really is pleasure to recognize these fine young people for their effort, enthusiasm and achievements throughout November,” Principal Lucia Laguarda said. “Our teachers and paraprofessional support staff members have been quite impressed with these youngsters and with so many of Flower Hill’s students, who are all working hard to make this the best year of school they have ever had.”
