The show will most certainly go on. The Huntington High School Blue Devil marching band is already eagerly anticipating next fall’s competitive season. The band expects to once again challenge for the New York State Field Band Conference championship.
While the band’s professional staff and their respective positions have not yet been announced, the Blue Devils’ student leadership has been put in place.
Katie Riley, Mathew Hearl and Jennifer Low will serve as the Blue Devils’ drum majors. James Obermaier is set to be the field major.

The band’s student leadership also includes flute section leaders Julianna Joseph-Whyte and Molly Kessler; clarinet section leaders Grace McKenna and Neil Jean-Baptiste; alto sax section leaders Nathan Gamboa and Andrew Knowles; low reed section leader Meagan Malone; mello section leader Ryan Hoffmann; trumpet section leaders Teddy Holly and Yasmin Khilji-Neal and low brass section leaders Christopher Engle and Matthew Quinn.
Christopher Engle will serve as the brass captain with Meagan Malone as the woodwind captain. Arashdeep Singh and Christiana DeLuca will be the drum captains. Katie Burton and Natalie Furman will lead the pit section. Erin Bonitz will be the color guard captain.
Blue Devil Band Open House
The Huntington Blue Devil marching band will hold an open house, including a rehearsal and parent informational meeting on Thursday, April 19 from 6-9 p.m. at the high school.
Participation is mandatory for all current seventh and eighth graders interested in joining the band for its 2018 season. All current marching band members are also required to attend. The band will begin work on its new competitive show.
The parent meeting will be held from 8-9 p.m.
