Six talented Southdown Primary School students were recently honored by Principal Scott Oshrin for capturing honors in the PTA’s Reflections art contest.
“The National PTA Reflections program welcomes students of all grades and abilities to explore and be involved in the arts,” according to the New York State PTA website. “Students reflect on a theme, create original works of art and earn positive recognition for their achievements.
The theme for this year’s nationally acclaimed program is “Within Reach.” Participants are able to enter works of art in six different categories, including dance choreography, film production, literature, music competition, photography and visual arts.
