The Huntington School District is accepting applications for its 2017/18 universal pre-kindergarten program. The deadline to submit an application is Friday, May 26.
The Huntington School District’s kindergarten registration process for the 2017/18 school year is approaching. A postcard will soon be arriving in the mailboxes of district residents outlining registration details. The full day program is open to all youngsters in the community who will be five years old by December 1, 2017.
The Office of Student Registration is available to assist parents/guardians interested in registering a child in the Huntington School District. The registration process is multi-faceted and requires the submission of certain documents and/or information to demonstrate eligibility to attend district schools.
Families will be asked to visit the respective school their child will be attending, including meeting with the principal, reviewing academic offerings and placement and receiving a class assignment, discussing the immunization record with the school nurse and submitting emergency contact information.
For more information call the Office of Student Registration at 673-2974 or visit room 103 in the central administration wing of Jack Abrams School. The wing can be accessed through the building's central administration entrance in the parking lot located at 50 Tower Street, Huntington Station.
Registration will be conducted at the district’s four primary school buildings according to the following schedule: Tuesday, March 14 at Washington Primary; Thursday, March 16 at Jefferson Primary; Monday, March 20 at Southdown Primary; Wednesday, March 22 at Flower Hill Primary. Make-up sessions are set for Monday, May 22 and Tuesday, May 23 at Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School.
