Washington Science Fair is Fascinating
This year’s science fair at Washington Primary School was an event that made everyone in the building feel good. It was exciting to see the degree of hard work, effort and ingenuity put into the dozens of individual and class projects on display in the school gymnasium.
“The projects were really interesting and informative,” Principal Marsha Neville said.
“It was so nice to see what can be accomplished when students work hard.”
Every class in the building developed a project along with many individual students. The results were impressive. Visitors remarked on how well done the projects were and the general attractiveness of each presentation.
The projects covered a wide range of topics that appealed to the youngsters and their classmates. Students worked with seeds, foods, liquids, crayons and all sorts of other materials. First grader Rory Kohut studied whether or not a person could change the color pennies. Kindergartener Thomas Knapp researched how fog forms. Second grader Daniel VanArsdale investigated what makes glow sticks glow. Many other subjects were equally fascinating.
Each of the classes in the school visited the fair during the day. Parents and family members were invited to attend a one-hour evening exhibition of the projects. “It was a valuable learning experience for every student,” Mrs. Neville said.
