Jack Cutrone Signs with Albany
Jack Cutrone is ready to move onto a larger stage. The Huntington High School senior has signed an NCAA Division I national letter of intent to play lacrosse on an athletic scholarship at the University at Albany.
Cutrone has played football, basketball and lacrosse for Huntington. "Unfortunately, I tore my ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) twice so I missed some seasons, but I am grateful that I was able to play sports again. I had a great time and have enjoyed being a Blue Devil."
The teenager has played midfield for the Blue Devils and worn uniform number 21. "I was fortunate to have great coaches and teammates," Cutrone said. "I always wanted to play Division I lacrosse and I felt Albany was the best academic and athletic match."
Cutrone intends to play either midfield or attack for the Great Danes, who dropped a 14-8 verdict to Stony Brook in the America East Conference tournament championship game this spring. The Blue Devil senior hopes to become part of something special at Albany over the next four years.
Academically, Cutrone is interested in studying criminal justice "and Albany has a good criminal justice program," he said.
