Huntington Senior Wins Club Z! Achievement Award

Huntington High School senior James Neary has earned a Club Z! Achievement Award. The honor carries a cash stipend of $500. The teenager was one of six winners across the nation. The contest drew 250 entries.

Mr. Neary won honorable mention recognition in the annual competition, which was open to students of all levels of talent and abilities in grades 5-12. Judges evaluated entries based on performance, service, merit and achievement.

"Students from all backgrounds and with all levels of skills and abilities had an opportunity to showcase their individual talents in an attempt to win over $10,000 in scholarship prizes," said Tom Masone, area director for Club Z! In-Home Tutoring. "A fantastic effort was made by all applicants and six winners were ultimately chosen."

Mr. Neary was nominated for the honor by Huntington High School science teacher Rosanne Brienza. She cited his work ethic and effort, positive attitude, academic performance and leadership qualities.
