Tri-CYA's Martone Scholarship Presented to Ally Kiley

Harvard College-bound Huntington High School senior Alexandra Kiley was presented with the Tri-CYA's Joseph A. Martone Scholarship for her work developing a library of more than 800 books at the Huntington Station Young Center.

"As a [Tri-CYA] board member and volunteer, Joseph Martone stood for hard work and commitment to education," said Jane Grosso, who presented the $500 scholarship to Ms. Kiley. "He was a team player and had an unselfish dedication to community service."

Ms. Kiley collected, catalogued and organized the library books as a project to secure her Girl Scouts Gold Award. "She has volunteered for numerous community service events and fundraisers," Ms. Grosso said. "She combines the ideas and commitments that Joe stood for."

Ms. Kiley is well-known for keeping a positive outlook. A National Merit commended student, president of the GO and English honor society, Homecoming Day queen and lead actress in last fall's drama club production, the teenager plans to travel to Spain this summer.
