School Board Elects Rogan as Prez, Paci as Veep

Huntington School Board members elected Emily Rogan to serve as that body's president during the 2011/12 school year. John P. Paci III was chosen as vice-president. Trustees took the action during the Board's reorganization meeting this past Tuesday in the Jack Abrams School auditorium.

Fellow trustees nominated both Mrs. Rogan and Mr. Paci for the president's post. District Clerk Elizabeth Torffa polled members and Mrs. Rogan was elected in a 4-3 vote. Mrs. Rogan then nominated Mr. Paci for vice-president and he was chosen in a unanimous vote.

An award winning journalist, Mrs. Rogan grew up here and graduated from Huntington High School in 1983. She went on to earn a Bachelor's degree at Cornell University and a Master's degree at New York University.

Fourteen years ago Mrs. Rogan moved back to Huntington from New York City with her husband Bob (Huntington Class of 1979). Together they have a son, Henry who is a sophomore at Huntington High School and a daughter Julia, a sixth grader at Woodhull School.

Mr. Paci and his wife Kelly are the parents of three children. He has been a resident of the district since the age of 11 and graduated form Huntington High School in 1990, earning a full athletic scholarship to Indiana University, where he was the starting quarterback for the football team for three years. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business in 1994 and is currently employed by the Wall Street firm, Morgan Stanley.
