Flower Hill Honors its Best
Flower Hill Primary School has so many good students it’s hard to select a group of youngsters as the recipients of a special monthly award.
The Student of the Month program is a way of recognizing youngsters for their fine academic performance, exemplary behavior, stand-out cooperation and respect and the positive way they approach their studies, classmates and teachers.
“We have a great group of students here at Flower Hill,” Principal Marlon Small said. The youngsters have collectively earned a reputation as hard workers with a thirst for knowledge. “They never stop asking questions and love to learn,” Mr. Small said.
One recent day Mr. Small honored 20 of the school’s top students, presenting them with certificates and saluting their efforts. A group photo was snapped and posted in the school lobby. Names of the award winners were announced over the public address system. The children were a little in awe of the whole experience.
The February honorees included Francesca Stamatatos, Will Barrese, Julia Petrozzo, Sean Hassett, Simone Sanchez, Emma Cahill, Tony Callery, Isaiah Williams, Sophia Caffrey, Alexa Aviles, Eric Rivera, Johnny Dossantos, Jackson Moreno-Mejia, Michael Mathews, Max Gordon, Vanessa Gomez-Hernandez, Casey Smith, Danrell Baker, Jake Cordes and Nicholas Bavaro.
